GBG Arts To Participate at LAP Art Shanghai

Alfredo Herrera, Solo Exhibition, Caracas

From May 10th-14th, 2012 Caracas-based GBG Arts will exhibit for the first time in Shanghai at the Latin American Pavilion & International Wing, Art Shanghai.

Located in Prados del Este, a neighborhood in the East part of the capital that was built in the mid 60’s, GBG Arts is situated inside a large shed that is divided in four artists’ studios and two exhibition halls.
GBG arts is a gallery space that has transitioned over a period of 15 years in what it is today. Three years ago, GBG moved to the new space where art previews, lectures, poetry reading and exhibitions take place regularly. There are weekly workshops led by artist Consuelo Ginnari.
Initially located inside an architectural firm, GBG Arts is directed by Gabriela Benaim Ginnari and architect Mario “Kin” Matos.
Benaim, a young art dealer with more than 15 years managing and promoting the arts in Caracas,    was highly influenced to work in the same field of her parents, Venezuelan visual artists, Ricardo Benaim and Consuelo Ginnari.
Besides promoting Venezuelan contemporary and Latin America art, GBG Arts also works with local and international architectural & interior design firms giving professional recommendation in art investment for corporate and private residences.

“The first time GBG ventured into the art fair business was in 2008 at FIA Caracas focusing in Geometric Abstraction and the only piece exhibited was a MAC computer on a desk; there was no actual display of works,” says Gisele Diaz, GBG Arts Assistant.
In Shanghai, GBG Arts will showcase the work by Carlos Enrique Gonzalez, Jonidel Mendoza, Paulo Castro and Natalia Rondon.
