Next Saturday, September 8th 2012 from 7 to 10PM, Locust Projects and site95 and will inaugurate D.C.-based artist John James Anderson exhibition on view through October 17th, 2012.
The curatorial nonprofit alternative initiative site95 will present its first installment of a multiple cities projects entitled “City Limits” at the Locust’s Project Room.
The exhibition consists of three projects by John James Anderson and is curated by site95 founder Meaghan Kent.
The series focuses on the influence of the urban environment on contemporary practices. Considering and questioning site-specificity, artists in each exhibition present ideas which are progressive, reactionary, and often poetic with regards to their own urban environment.
In conjunction with the Project Room exhibition, Anderson’s work will be featured on over 30 bus shelters around Miami in September 2012 for the Bus Shelter Project, part of Locust Projects’ public art initiative “Out of the Box,” which commissions artists to create new work for public spaces in Miami.
A conversation with the artist and curator will take place at 6PM.
Locust Projects is located at 3852 North Miami Avenue, Miami Fl 33127.
